Trial Preparation

Kingsessing Heals Community Resiliency Center provides a safe, healing space where those impacted by mass violence can access the support and services needed to foster resilience in the aftermath of tragedy and preparation for court proceedings. These services include media training, impact statement preparation, direct updates from the District Attorney’s Office of Victim Services, and oftentimes, food and transportation.

Media Training

Media training empowers individuals to share their stories effectively and confidently. Through our program, we've trained 17 participants. The training equips them with the skills to communicate their experiences to the media, ensuring their voices are heard accurately and respectfully during court proceedings and in the public sphere.

Impact Statement Writing Workshops

These workshops are designed to equip participants with the skills to craft powerful and poignant impact statements. Through our program, participants have submitted letters, with 8 being read aloud in court. Impact statements provide a crucial platform for survivors to share their experiences, emotional responses, and the lasting consequences of trauma, ensuring their voices and perspectives are heard and acknowledged within the legal system.
