A look into our community impact.
At Kingsessing Heals Community Resilience Center, community engagement is at the heart of everything we do. We believe healing happens in relationship—with ourselves, with one another, and with the spaces we share. Take a look at some a of programs we implemented this summer:
Inside Out Program
The Inside Out Program is a holistic wellness and personal development initiative designed to support young adults through healing-centered engagement, reflective discussion, skill-building, and individualized support services. Participants engage in structured programming three days per week throughout the program.
Beyond the Feed
Beyond the Feed is a six-week interactive wellness and digital empowerment program designed for high school students. The program focuses on helping youth strengthen emotional wellness, leadership, communication, confidence, and career readiness while exploring healthy social media engagement, content creation, filming, and editing skills.
Participants engage in grounding exercises, group discussions, hands-on workshops, wellness activities, and collaborative media projects that encourage positive self-expression, creativity, and personal growth beyond social media.
Youth Community Resilience & Mental Health Initiative
The Youth Community Resilience & Mental Health Initiative is designed to strengthen the social-emotional well-being of children, families, and the broader community in Southwest Philadelphia.
Grounded in evidence-based practices and rooted in trusted partnerships, the initiative addresses trauma, supports positive mental health outcomes, and cultivates long-term resilience across schools, families, and community spaces.
Through this initiative, KHCRC partners with children- and youth-serving organizations, schools, community-based organizations, and other trusted entities throughout Southwest Philadelphia to connect young people and families with wellness, mental health, and resilience-building resources.
